Public consultation on a proposed bus gate in Rahoon took place in late 2025. Following review of the consultation feedback, the proposal was withdrawn and a range of alternative alignments for Route 44 were considered. A report is available which outlines the options assessed and the preferred alignment selected for implementation as part of the new Galway bus network.
